TRAINING

Situated in the heart of Lake Country and close to the waterways of Muskoka, Halibuton and Georgian Bay, the Orillia Lake St. John seaplane base is the ideal location for experiencing the unique adventures and pleasures of floatplane flying. Floatplane ratings are available thru Lake Counrty Airways in a Cessna 172. The course includes the theory and practical aspects of all key elements of float flying including, taxiing, takeoff and landing, crosswind and glassy water technique, sailing and docking as well as procedures at unfamiliar lakes.

RENTAL

Upon completion of the Seaplane Training course or equivalent and at the discretion of your instructor, a Cessna 172 on floats may be rented.
Pilots must be current and require an annual check ride as well as an optional checkout if he or she has not flown the aircraft within 30 days.
The airport is also home for the Lake St. John Flying Club. Pilots may purchase a membership which provides flying privileges of an IFR rated Cessna 172 on wheels and a 180 Hp C172 on CAP 2000 floats. Members can book aircraft overnight and weekly according to the club policies.

 

CHARTER

Stanton Air and Lake Country Airways operate a variety of aircraft from the Orillia-Lake St. John Airport. Flights serve the Metropolitan Toronto area and all points north to the thousands of lakes and rivers

 

 

 

CAMPS

Stanton Air operates a number of secluded camps that are only accessible by air or foot. The camps are equipped with cabins, stoves, refrigerators and cooking utensils. Boats and outboard motors are included with each camp rental.
